NS-CSX Atlanta Terminal
NS and CSX jointly operate approximately three miles of trackage through midtown and downtown Atlanta. The joint trackage begins at Howell Wye, at the signal known as King Plow on the NS side and winds its way through Atlanta, passing through what is known as the gulch where Terminal Station once was before the lines split off at McDaniel St. The line consists of four tracks, the two tracks on the north side are shared by CSX and the NS Griffin District, while the south tracks are exclusively for the NS South District. For sheer volume its hard to beat the Atlanta terminal, and is easily accessible from midtown Atlanta.
